Elis Mavie is an architect and urban planner, with a master's degree in human settlements, urbanism and landscape, from the University of Leuven. Currently, she works in Maputo, Mozambique, as a trainee assistant in the thematic line of physical planning and participates in research projects at the Faculty of Architecture and Physical Planning at Eduardo Mondlane University. She also works as an independent consultant in her architectural and urban planning services company, focused on the empowerment and development of local communities, as well as on the design of projects to improve the urban margins of the municipality of Maputo. She has been a member of the Africa Habitat Project since 2021.
