Sílvia Jorge is an architect, with a master's degree in Rehabilitation of Architecture and Urban Centers (2009) and a PhD in Urbanism (2017) from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon. She is a member of the Socio-Territorial Urban and Local Action Studies Group (Gestual-CIAUD/FA-UL), since its inception in 2008, where she has been part of several action research teams, namely as a postdoctoral fellow at the Africa Habitat Project (2018/2021), coordinated by Isabel Raposo. Also as a research fellow, she was part of the team of the project “Spatial Reconfigurations and Social Differentiation in Cities in Angola and Mozambique” (2012-2014), coordinated by Cristina Udelsman, developed at the Center for African Studies of the University Institute of Lisbon (CES-IUL). /ISCTE-IUL). Also noteworthy is her participation in the "Mediterranean City-to-City Migration Project", coordinated by Yves Cabannes and Barbara Lipietz, produced by United Cities and Local Governments and Bartlett, University College of London (2017).
